How do I avoid impressions on my Mattress? Body indentations are a normal occurrence in your new mattress and indicate that the upholstery layers are conforming to your body's individual contours. To help minimize body impressions, please rotate your mattress every two weeks in the first three months; then, once every two months thereafter. How do I rotate my Bedding? Following the cycles illustrated below, will ensure that your one or two sided mattress, are rotated properly. Rotate your new mattresses as part of the regular maintenance of the set. Your new mattress needs to be rotated every two weeks for the first six months. After six months, rotate your mattress every two or three months. Continue this process once every two months thereafter and throughout the life of your sleep set. Additionaly, your new box spring / foundation must be rotated every six months. Visco Memory Foam - Details and Recommendations: 1. If you’re used to traditional mattresses, your new memory foam mattress will feel different at first. Don’t worry, your mattress will adjust to you. As you sleep on the mattress, it will respond to your body weight and temperature, conforming to your body and feeling more natural. This period lasts for a couple of weeks. During this time, the cells are fully opening so they can optimally adjust to temperature changes and weight. 2. Most people notice a slight odor to their new mattress, this smell is normal and usually disappears within a few hours of airing. Sometimes, however, this smell may still be noticeable for a longer period of time. Most often, it disappears after a few weeks of use. 3. Memory foam mattresses are sensitive to temperature, that’s what helps them conform to your body and give you that desired support. In rooms of 65° F or less, your mattress will feel a bit firmer, but when you lie on it, it will respond to your body temperature and become softer. 4. Simply spending time in bed, sleeping, reading or watching TV, the extra movement will help the cells in the material to fully open. As they open, they are able to breath and respond to weight and temperature, but they always return to their original shape.
