 | F A B R I C C A R E Vacuum or brush to remove dirt and dust that can cut threads or wear fibres. Spills should be repeatedly blotted with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel. If a stain should occur, test for color fastness by wiping a small hidden area with a mild soap solution before attempting to remove stain.
All seat cushions and ottomans should be turned and rotated (if reversible) after every vacuuming (at least every few weeks). This will help stop your cushions from twisting and provide even wear. If twisting does occur, simply open at the zipper and pull the fabric around by hand. Zippers are there for ease of assembly by the manufacturer. Do not attempt to remove cover or try to machine wash. A professional upholstery cleaner is recommended. Occasionally a seat cushion may appear to be a different shade than the rest of the piece. Simply turn the cushion over and the nap (fabric fibres) will lay in the other direction. |
L E A T H E R C A R E Keep your leather looking its luxurious best by following a few basic guidelines. Dust with a clean, dry cloth Gently wipe any spots or spills with a soft, damp cloth (warm distilled water works best). Do not allow spills to set. For stubborn stains, use a damp cloth and mild soap. Blot excess moisture with a clean dry cloth. Do not use commercial leather cleaners. Never use detergents or alcohol-based products to clean spots. Natural leather may fade; do not place furniture in direct sunlight. Avoid placing furniture too close to a radiator or similar heat source. |

| W O O D C A R E Dust regularly with a dry cloth or one slightly moistened with a natural polish. Avoid polishes containing petroleum products since they may damage the finish. Even dust may be abrasive so always dust with the grain and not across it. Avoid putting furniture in direct sunlight since this may bleach the finish. Commercial glass cleaners may discolor brass or chrome. Be sure to always use felt discs, placemats (without rubber backing), coasters, etc. when putting lamps, glasses, hot objects etc. on table tops. Despite modern water resistant finishes it is very important that water not be allowed to stand on top of your furniture. When storing table leaves, always lay flat, beneath a bed or somewhere out of the way. Standing on end will cause warpage. Maintaining even humidity conditions is extremely beneficial to all furniture with wood construction. All wood grains absorb stains differently. Inch by inch, there will always be varying degrees of light and dark tones throughout. This is a characteristic which makes your piece beautifully unique. |
M A R B L E T O P C A R E Marble is a calcium-rich stone, porous and susceptible to expansion. When spills are left on a marble countertop, they seep into the pores. Over time, this leads to cracks. It's important to wipe up any spills immediately, then wipe the area with a little water and dry immediately. Never allow wet dishes, glasses or water to stand on a marble countertop for any length of time. Water will seep into the stone and leave a permanent ring to remind you where the water was. This is caused by a permanent change in the marble's composition and can only be removed by professional polishing. |

| G L A S S T O P C A R E Glass top tables are not only functional furniture, they are also classy and chic which make them suitable for the modern household. However, you have to take note that glass is a delicate material. Although most glass top tables today are tempered for strength and durability, they are also prone to scratches and breakage. When buying a new glass top table, you must use rubberized coasters, placemats, and non-slippery plasticized center doilies. These accessories are your first defense against scratches and breakage. After every meal, make sure to clean your glass table with mild soap and warm water. These should be enough to remove oils and food stains. You have to use non abrasive cloth when cleaning the glass top. If you have a foam sponge, then this cleaning material should do the job. Suede fabric can also be used to make the glass top shiny and sparkling. |
B I - C A S T V I N Y L C A R E Bicast is a man-made leather used on many upholstered furniture pieces, most commonly sofas and chairs. The leather is not from an animal, making it a more low-cost, yet elegant option to consider when purchasing furniture. The Bicast leather is finished with a coat of polyurethane, which works as a protective layer that will resist stains, as well as protect the leather from normal wear and tear that could dull the appearance of the furniture. Cleaning the Bicast leather is a fairly easy procedure that can be completed with a few simple cleaning elements. Wipe the Bicast leather with a soft cloth, which will collect most dust and residue. Wipe the leather down every week to keep the polyurethane shining through. Moisten the cloth with warm water, and wipe over the Bicast for sticky stains or residue that is not easily removed with the dry cloth. The water will be safe for the polyurethane and collect nearly any residue that has formed. For stubborn stains, mix three cups of water with a squirt of liquid dish detergent in the sink. Dip a cleaning cloth in this solution, wring out as much water as possible, then continue wiping over the Bicast. The dish detergent is mild enough to use on the polyurethane coating, yet strong enough to cut through scum and build-up. Never use acidic or harsh chemical cleaners on the Bicast leather. They will eat away at the polyurethane coating and cause harm to the leather itself. | |
